Saving Sinterklaas
Every year, the Sinterklaas parade lights up Rhinebeck, NY, with magic, joy, and community spirit. But behind the scenes, this cherished tradition faces challenges like dwindling funding and volunteer support. "Saving Sinterklaas" is a heartfelt short documentary that explores the incredible efforts of the Rhinebeck community to preserve this beloved celebration.
I (Fiona Seabrook) am the director/producer of the film, but both myself and Maeve Degan wore many hats. I also created the graphics, filmed most of the b-roll, was the digital imaging technician, and audio capture. Maeve Degan is my assistant producer and director of photography, and she also did the lighting design. Tristan O'Regan is our trusty editor!
