Spinning a Yarn
The entire piece was written, shot and edited by Audrey Lewis and Eliza Olsen. Here's a brief description:
In Vermont, sheep farming was once the dominant industry. Much of state land had been cleared for lumber, leaving swaths of pasture to raise huge flocks of sheep to supply the woolen mills that stoked the local economy in the 19th and early 20th centuries. Since then, those giant farms moved west – and today, sheep farming in Vermont is a fraction of what it was. But it still exists – as does the spirit of farmers who create hand-crafted wool. Audrey Lewis and Eliza Olsen explore the history and modern-day story of Vermont sheep farming in Spinning a Yarn.
